- Enrolling in a Cert 4 Cybersecurity program, I acquired a sturdy bedrock of Cybersecurity and IT knowledge.
- Pursuing certifications such as TryHackMe’s Pre-Security, CISCO Networking Essentials, and (ISC)2 Certified in Cybersecurity, I honed my expertise with 100+ extra hour of study outside my Certificate IV.
Skills to Empower: Knowledge was not enough. I transformed this knowledge into practical skills:
- Embracing CISCO packet tracer and Wireshark, I gained hands-on experience.
- Creativity took center stage as I cut Ethernet cables for my home NAS server, embracing web hosting and virtualization in Docker.
- Leveraging Cloudflare’s reverse proxy capabilities, I fortified my web presence with security and performance enhancements.
Diving into Capture The Flag (CTF) challenges, I delved into real-world cybersecurity scenarios, sharpening my problem-solving skills and strategic thinking.
Navigating IDS and SIEM:
- I set up and configured Snort, an Intrusion Detection System (IDS), showcasing my ability to monitor network traffic and identify potential threats.
- Delving into SIEM, I mastered the art of configuring Splunk to collect and analyze security-related data, solidifying my cybersecurity toolkit.
Crafting NAS Solutions:
- I ventured into setting up and configuring my own Network-Attached Storage (NAS) server. This endeavor showcased my skills in hardware setup, web hosting, and virtualization.
